New Bose® Headset for Coaches Makes Regular Season Debut


September 3, 2014 -- Today, Bose Corporation’s new headset for the NFL makes its regular season debut during Kickoff weekend at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington. Designed, engineered and manufactured by Bose, it’s the first active noise cancelling headset for the league, and will be used by all teams, coaches and staff to improve critical sideline and booth communication.

The new Bose headset for the NFL benefits from over 30 years of ongoing research and integrates the design and technology used in the company’s military and aviation headsets. It first measures and identifies unwanted sounds, and then calculates and produces an equal and opposite signal -- thousands of times per second. Rumbling stadium noise -- which can reach 130 decibels -- is dramatically reduced, and communication becomes clear and audible.

The new Bose® headset for the NFL comes in dual-or single-earcup models and includes a control module that houses the power management circuitry. Its angled earcups position the headband and boom microphone for optimal performance, and its lightweight design stays secure and comfortable -- from regulation to overtime.

To withstand the extreme conditions of the NFL season, the Bose headset features weather-resistant materials exhaustively tested in Bose labs to mimic game environments, including snow storms, drenching rain, gusting high-winds, and temperatures ranging from the heat in Miami, to the cold in Green Bay.
